Music Composition
Texas World Music founder Mike Dawson debuted as a classical piano prodigy at age 10. During his senior year at university he met jazz educator legend Dan Haerle. Inspired by the work ethic and musicianship of Dr. Haerle, Dawson embarked upon a life’s journey that took him all over the world as a performer and bandleader. His songs and compositions on albums and films range from big band, rock n’ roll, Latin, art rock, jazz, and ethnic influences that span the globe.
New Media Content
In 2012 Texas World Music launched a new media products development initiative. Creators of music, film, education materials, podcasting, and creative writing need to find new audiences and create income. Statistics from the US Department of Labor National Employment Matrix indicate that about 8% of performance artists work full time in their field.
